Genk poised for last 16 spot

Genk came away from Zagreb with a 3-1 lead in the first leg of their Europa League play-off tie last week and they should be able to book their spot in the next round with another victory on Thursday.

Genk saw a five-game winning run ended in a 3-0 defeat to Standard Liege at the weekend but they perhaps had one eye on this fixture, and prior to that they were flying with five wins on the spin.

The first leg was competitive and Dinamo are perhaps unlucky to trail by two goals but their road form in Europe has been generally poor. The Croatian club managed just one win on their travels in the league phase, winning at bottom club Maccabi Tel Aviv, and they lost without scoring at Lille and Midtjylland in their last two trips.

At the current prices a Genk win looks good value, and a 2-0 home win seems a reasonable correct score prediction. The Smurfs have struggled for clean sheets at home but they did claim a 2-0 success over Anderlecht at this venue earlier this month and will focus on defence as they bid to protect their lead, while Dinamo have failed to score in two of their last three trips and in their last two European away days.
