Gent could struggle to tame red-hot Eupen

Eupen are the team to beat in the Belgian Pro League this season and they can make it four wins on the spin in the competition this week when they visit Gent.

With six wins from ten matches, Eupen find themselves top of the pile and in good scoring spirits with eight goals in their last three contests.

Bosnian forward Smail Prevljak is in particularly good form with three strikes in his last two matches and the hosts are a solid bet to once again record three points this weekend, having recently overcome Cercle Brugge, Beerschot and Genk.

Opponents Gent meanwhile have only won three of their ten league fixtures this season and find themselves in lower-table obscurity.

They are struggling to juggle domestic duties with the inaugural edition of the Europa Conference League and will not be helped in their clash with Eupen by the absence of star forward Giorgi Chakvetadze, who is suspended after picking up a red card in defeat to Antwerp.

They have won only once in their last five Pro League games and are worth opposing in this one against the division’s pacesetters.
