Germany to Win and Over 3.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Germany have won their last six games with at least four goals in four of them. Meanwhile, Ghana have lost their last three matches, including a 5-1 reverse to Austria on Thursday.

Germany 3-1

Reason for tip

Germany have scored three or more goals in four of their last six games and should create plenty of problems for a Ghana defence that shipped five in Austria on Friday. The Black Stars have decisive players in attack and can grab a goal themselves, but should fare no better than a 3-1 defeat.

Lennart Karl To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Lennart Karl has scored three goals in his last three games for Germany/Germany U21. He came off the bench and terrorised the Swiss defence on Friday, so could do more damage to a less competent Ghana backline.

Germans can go for goals

Germany should overpower Ghana in Monday’s friendly at MHP Arena in Stuttgart after edging Switzerland in a seven-goal thriller on Friday evening. Julian Nagelsmann’s side claimed a 4-3 win in an end-to-end thriller with Florian Wirtz at the heart of everything good they did on the night.

The Liverpool star looked liberated in Germany’s midfield, scoring twice and assisting his side’s two other goals. He should enjoy himself against the Black Stars too if Ghana’s defence play as loose and lackadaisical as they did against Austria on Friday.

Otto Addo addressed the defensive issues in his post-match press conference at Ernst-Happel Stadium, promising his team will be much better against Germany. But there is also plenty of scope for the home side to improve too.

Karl is the new kid on the block

Nagelsmann is likely to make a handful of changes and he could hand Bayern Munich winger Lennart Karl a first senior start for his country. The talented teenager had a hand in Germany’s fourth goal against the Swiss after a menacing dribble off the right flank.

Karl is full of confidence at the moment and, after scoring three times for the Under-21s in the November international break, could be a good anytime option against a woeful Ghana backline.

Austria scored five, but it could have been seven or eight with the Black Stars keeper pulling off two world-class saves to keep the score down. Back Germany to win with at least four goals in the game and have a small wager on a 3-1 home win, although it could be more if Ghana don’t get it together at the back.
