• Latvia’s only win in World Cup qualifying has come against Gibraltar

Gibraltar Struggling At Both Ends

World Cup qualifying has been tough for Gibraltar, who have conceded 15 goals in their last three matches, against Turkey, The Netherlands and Montenegro.

You have to go back to their Nations League clash with San Marino in November 2020 for their last competitive clean sheet, whilst they have only scored two goals in their last nine games.

It is hard to see how they will turn that around against a Latvia side who are generally solid at the back, so it is predicted that they will sign off qualifying with another defeat.

Sturdy Latvia Poor In Attack

Latvia, too, have found World Cup qualifying hard going, with their only win coming in the reverse fixture in September when they beat Gibraltar 3-1.

They have managed to keep clean sheets in two of their last five matches, but both of those games ended 0-0 and they have failed to score in four of those fixtures.

It is therefore expected that, despite Gibraltar’s defensive issues, this will not be a goal fest, so a 2-0 Latvia win is my prediction.
