Gillingham vs Carlisle Predictions

  • Gillingham have netted at least twice in five of their last seven home outings
  • There have been three or more goals in eight of Carlisle’s last 11 away fixtures
  • Three of the Gills’ last five games at Priestfield have contained at least three games

Gillingham finding a tune at home

Gillingham have been in excellent form of late at Priestfield, winning six of their last seven league games and netting at least twice in five of those fixtures.

Neil Harris’ side, who had found goals hard to come by in the first half of the campaign, have sorted their issues in the final third, and three of their last five outings at home have now contained at least three strikes.

They aren’t exactly watertight at the other end though, keeping just three clean sheets across 12 at Priestfield, while they have only picked up one win against a team currently in the top half of the table.

Carlisle have top three in their sights

Carlisle on the other hand are flying under Paul Simpson, under whom they are unbeaten in six games, moving into third place in the table in the process.

Their last two matches have actually finished 0-0, but eight of their most recent 11 away fixtures have contained three or more goals.

That run includes a 5-2 win at Crawley, 3-3 draw with Harrogate and 4-1 win at Salford, hoping them score 30 times on the road, the second most in the division.

I predict that there will be three or more goals in this match, with a 2-2 draw my correct score prediction.
