Girona vs Osasuna Predictions

First home test for Girona

Girona play their first home game of the season on Thursday as they welcome Osasuna to the Estadio Municipal de Montilivi.

This is the third round of La Liga games and both of Girona’s outings so far have come on the road, while Osasuna have played twice at home.

First win for Catalans

Girona have one point to show from their two trips and Thursday’s encounter provides last season’s surprise package with a great chance for their first three points.

The Catalan club opened the season with a point at Betis and then went down 3-0 at Atletico Madrid. They probably didn’t deserve to get anything against Los Colchoneros, but they were more competitive in that game than the scoreline suggests.

This is a new-look Girona team and a number of stars from last season gave departed, including top scorer Artem Dovbyk and forward Savio, but they still have a strong team and can make home advantage count here.

Osasuna can grab a goal

A 2-1 win for the hosts is the correct score pick as Osasuna should be able to keep this fixture fairly tight. Osasuna have four points from their two games and they’ve not scored in six straight games going back into last season so they should be able to find a way through against the Blanquivermells, who have just one clean sheet in their last seven.

Girona summer buy Bryan Gil is yet to open his account but he’s had plenty of chances, managing four shots against Betis and then matching that against Atleti, and the former Sevilla man may be able to get off the mark when Osasuna visit.
