Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Struggling Girona were thrashed 5-0 at Villarreal last time but they did get on the scoresheet in their home defeat to Rayo Vallecano before that. Back at home, they should have enough to give their frustrated fans a rare moment to cheer, making both teams to score, which has been a winning bet in five of Sevilla’s last seven games, the standout pick.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

With Girona scoring more than one goal in a game just once across their last 14 matches, it is hard to envisage a goal fest playing out. Both sides are in woeful form, each losing five of their last six, so it is hard to trust either outfit, making the draw the selection.

Girona vs Sevilla Predictions

  • Excluding this season’s three promoted teams, only three La Liga teams have taken fewer points in 2025 than Sevilla’s 19
  • One of those is Girona, who have managed to earn just 16
  • Both teams to score has been a winning bet in four of the last six head-to-heads

Struggling sides are hard to trust

The 2022-23 season saw Sevilla secure Champions League football by winning the Europa League and the following campaign ended with a third-place finish in La Liga for Girona.

Fast forward to the present day, however, and that pair of sides with such recent success are genuine relegation contenders in the Spanish top flight.

Girona are propping up the table after two games, shipping eight goals across defeats to Rayo Vallecano and Villarreal, while Sevilla also find themselves on zero points having lost to Athletic Bilbao and Getafe.

Shaky defences should lead to goals

That may sound like a rash call to consider them relegation candidates after two games but the sad truth is that this form has carried over from last season, when Sevilla took 19 points after New Year’s Eve and Girona, somehow, amassed three fewer.

It is impossible to trust either side right now, especially at the back, but with Dodi Lukebakio starting the Andalusians will always pose a threat while Portu and Viktor Tsygankov are capable of unlocking a shaky Sevilla defence for the hosts.

Both teams have scored in four of the past six meetings between this pair and with each desperate to turn their fortunes around, expect the goals to flow in Girona on Saturday.
