Granada vs Deportivo La Coruna Predictions

This match doesn’t look like it’s going to turn into a classic by any means. Both sides have looked poor so far this season and the duo are likely to be battling it out with each other to try and avoid relegation this term, so it’s an important game even at this stage.

Granada were at least entertaining to watch under Paco Jemez but having sacked the former Rayo boss and replaced him with the more cautious Lucas Alcaraz, they’ve become a much more defensive-minded team. Only losing 1-0 at Camp Nou last weekend is perhaps their greatest accomplishment so far this term and if they defend like that again, a Deportivo La Coruna side that are fairly toothless in attack are unlikely to cause them many problems.

Depor have only scored 1 away goal so far this season and have netted just 0.7 goals per game on average overall. They’ve played two away games against sides expected to finish in the bottom half so far and both finished goalless, so they do at least look reasonably solid at the back and it’s a good job, given they’ve failed to score in half of their La Liga games this season.

Granada only netted 1 goal in 4 matches last month too with three of their four games ending either 0-0 or 1-0, so all the stats and recent form points to this being a low-scoring contest between two sides that must be low on confidence. Granada are perhaps very marginally the more likely winners and the bookies make them favourites but given they’ve failed to win all season you couldn’t confidently back them.

Therefore, backing this to end in a drab 0-0 draw at 15/2 looks about the most appealing bet.
