Granada vs Leganes Betting Tips

The side from the Madrid community were 2-1 winners in the 1st leg a fortnight ago. Goals from Guillermo Fernández and Omar Ramos put the Segunda Division side 2-0 up but Fran Rico’s late goal for 10 man Granada has left the tie hanging in the balance ahead of the 2nd leg.

It would be a shock to see Leganes progress over the 2 legs but not an enormous one. Granada are 17th in La Liga and only moved out of the drop-zone by virtue of their 2-1 win at Levante at the weekend. Leganes are in the top six in the 2nd tier and have genuine promotion aspirations this season so there isn’t a huge gulf in class between the sides.

Even if both teams name full strength sides, you’d give the visitors a shout but it is likely we’ll see a few changes from the hosts given league survival is their absolute priority again this year and they’ll only have 72 hours to recover from this match until they are back in action at home to Celta Vigo in La Liga on Sunday.

For that reason Leganes have every chance of finishing the job here and they look good value at 5/6 to avoid defeat in the 90 minutes and in doing so progress to the next round.

It’s likely to be close though. They will most probably come with a cautious mentality but up against a Granada side that has kept just 1 clean sheet in 16 outings this season they could well nick a goal at some point in the game. Therefore consider backing this one to finish 1-1 at odds of 11/2.
