Greece vs Bosnia And Herzegovina Predictions

It seemed like the fight for second place in Group J would include both Greece and Bosnia, with both sides strong enough to be serious contenders to finish behind Italy. The Italians have dominated the group, but both of these sides are off the pace. Greece are in terrible form and they sit seven points shy of the top two with just three games to play. Can they restore some pride with a result in this clash?

Greece so far have a single win to their name, their opening clash with Liechtenstein. They haven’t been good enough in their Euro 2020 push, which has left them second-bottom. They have lost five of their last six games coming into this one, so it is hardly a surprise that the visitors have been priced up as favourites to see off the 2004 European champions.

However, Bosnia are no great travellers. The away side have failed to win any of their trips in this group, while they’ve lost four on the road on the spin. They’ve failed to win any of their last six away, which points to a tough night in Athens for them, too. Defensive problems have plagued them in recent months, having conceded at least twice in each of their away games in this group.

Bosnia come here having shipped eight goals on the road, including four away at Armenia in their last away game. They really aren’t an effective side on the road, while they’ve conceded in six of their seven games in this qualifying campaign. It’s hardly an impressive record, while it has left Bosnia two-points shy of the top two. While they’ll be determined to turn that around, their defence could cost them.

Bosnia’s defensive record is just as bad as Greece, who have conceded in their last six matches. Neither side are looking strong at the back, so we see chances for these two. Both teams to score is our pick for this clash, with each side likely to have their weaknesses on display on Tuesday night.

We are also backing a close game here, with these two sides each struggling for wins in recent times. They have been pretty frequently in recent years, but they are rarely separated. Six of the last seven meetings between these two have seen the tie finish level, so we are backing a draw between these two. A 1-1 final score is our correct score prediction for this one.
