      Scotland to Win

      Reason for tip

Scotland have given themselves a great chance of booking their place at next year’s World Cup this week and can clear the first obstacle by claiming a win in Greece.

      Scotland 2-1

      Reason for tip

The Greeks have had their defensive issues, conceding nine goals in their last three qualifiers, so back Scotland to come away with a 2-1 win.

      Greece vs Scotland Predictions

      • Five of Scotland’s last seven matches have featured at least three goals
      • Greece have conceded nine goals in their last three qualifiers
      • Scotland have kept four successive away clean sheets

Scotland coming good at the right time

It is a massive week for Scotland as victories in their final two qualifiers against Greece and Denmark will book their spot at next summer’s finals.

Steve Clarke’s side are level with the Danes and will fancy their chances of gaining a win in Piraeus, which may have looked unlikely 18 months ago.

The Tartan Army had often struggled on the road, but they have kept a clean sheet in their last four away matches, including a 1-0 win in Greece in the away leg of a Nations League playoff.

Greek form has taken a nosedive

Greece admittedly won the return at Hampden Park 3-0 having won five of their six group games, which included a 2-1 success over England at Wembley.

That boosted confidence that they would do well in qualifying, but that has not panned out as they have lost their last three games in which they have conceded nine goals, including a 3-1 defeat in Glasgow.

So they look to be there for the taking as a seven-point deficit means they will not be getting their passports stamped this summer, so take a chance on Scotland completing the first half of the task and maybe claiming a 2-1 victory before the big showdown with the Danes.
