GAIS 2-1

Reason for tip

The visitors have struggled in their last two away games, but they were against much better sides than Halmstad. The hosts have lost their last two games 2-0 and may struggle again here with GAIS capable of pulling off a 2-1 victory due to their more reliable attacking unit.

Halmstad vs Gais Predictions

  • Halmstad have lost four of their last five matches, including two of their last four at home
  • GAIS have won four of their last five games and been victorious on two of five away trips this term
  • Jack Cooper-Love scored a brace against Hacken last weekend and comes up against the team he was on loan at last season

GAIS can keep it going

Allsvenskan newcomers GAIS can continue their excellent early-season form with a win at Orjans Vall on Saturday when they face a Halmstad side that lack reliable goalscorers.

The Superettan runners-up have hit the ground running in the top flight to win seven of their first 11 games and claim a podium position.

How long they can keep it up for remains to be seen, but they will come into this clash full of confidence after arguably their best performance the season in a Gothenburg derby.

Lots to like about Cooper-Love

On-loan striker Jack Cooper-Love bagged a brace in their 3-0 destruction of Hacken and he could be a major threat to the defence of the home side, where he played on loan last term.

Halmstad’s defence has not been the biggest problem for coach Magnus Haglund this term as his attackers have failed to deliver goals ona  regular basis and they enter this clash on the back of blanks against Djurgarden and Elfsborg.

The home side look hard to trust right now while GAIS are very capable of keeping their run going even if away wins have eluded them recently. Still they beat strugglers Varnamo and Kalmar on the road earlier this season and neither of those two clubs are far behind Halmstad in the current standings.
