      Hamburg vs Borussia Dortmund Predictions

Hamburger look to be on the road to recovery after their near miss last season. They finished in the relegation playoff position, narrowly escaping the drop with an extra time win over Kalrsruher SC.

But they sit in 11th position at this point in the season with a tally of 15 points from their opening 12 matches.

They got the most difficult match of the season out of the way first, visiting Bayern Munich and suffering a 5-0 defeat. They won three of their next five matches, losing only once, to considerably boost their points total.

However, things have taken a bit of a turn for Hamburg recently. They have only won one of their last six Bundesliga games, with two draws and three defeats making up the rest of their results.

I seriously doubt that they will improve that record on Friday either. Borussia Dortmund have fully recovered from their own spell of poor form and are playing top quality football at the moment.

Dortmund have won their last seven matches on the trot in all competitions, a run which comes after a five match winless streak for the Bundesliga challengers.

They have scored 27 goals in these seven matches, conceding six at the other end. This is a typical showing from Borussia Dortmund, who have seen three or more goals scored in 17 of their 21 competitive games this season.

This leaves them in 2nd position in the Bundesliga, with Bayern Munich leading them by five points and 3rd placed Wolfsburg trailing them by eight points.

Over 2.5 Match Goals looks like it’s still very good value even at the short odds of 1/2, but I think there is more value to be found.

Dortmund have seen four or more goals scored in each of their last six matches, so I think odds of 13/8 for a Dortmund Win and Over 3.5 Goals are excellent value. It’s been a much used bet in our Borussia Dortmund previews so far this season, and it’s come in more often than not.
