      Hannover vs Stuttgart Predictions

Hannover’s 2-2 draw away to the newly promoted Darmstadt on the opening day of the season may have seemed like a poor result, but they would take a draw against anyone now.

They have lost all of their competitive games since then, and have only managed to score in one of these four losses

Bayer Leverkusen, Mainz, Borussia Dortmund, and Augsburg have all added three to their points tally against Hannover, and have scored a combined ten goals against them.

But it could be worse, they could be Stuttgart. The away side don’t even have any fond memories of a draw to look back on this season.

They have lost all of their opening five Bundesliga games, any they can’t even blame their results on particularly impressive opponents.

Schalke are the best side they have faced, with a 1-0 defeat at home on Sunday following losses to Cologne, Hamburger, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Hertha Berlin.

Both of these sides narrowly avoided relegation last season, with Hannover finishing in 13th position and Stuttgart in 17th, three and two points above the automatic relegation position respectively.

But they will definitely need to improve a lot if they are to stay in the top flight for another season, and I can’t see their managers lasting much longer the way they are performing.

Stuttgart are actually unbeaten against Hannover in all of their last five meetings, with three draws breaking up the two victories that the away side have celebrated.

But things are a little different on Hannover’s turf, where they haven’t lost since 2006. This run stretches back eight games. Five of these eight games have ended all square, which makes odds of 2/1 for a draw look like very good value.

But I think backing a Hannover Win or Draw double chance is even more valuable at excellent odds of 8/13. Both teams have been fairly poor going forward as well, with Stuttgart failing to score more than one goal in any of their matches and Hannover only scoring in one of their last four league fixtures, so Under 2.5 Goals at 23/20 look attractive to me as well.
