Hapoel Be’er Sheva have a terrific home record in European football, where they are on a run of just two defeats in 19 matches, scoring in all bar a couple of those outings.

The Israel outfit are struggling a touch at the moment though, winning merely two of their last seven fixtures, a run that includes a pair of 1-1 draws against Romanian minnows Universitatea Craiova in this competition.

That means there’s a little bit of pressure on new manager Elyaniv Barda, especially as they have lost back-to-back home games.

Villarreal looking to bounce back

Villarreal on the other hand suffered their first defeat of the season on Sunday when they lost 1-0 to Real Betis, with six of their other seven matches ending in victory.

Unai Emery’s side beat Lech Poznan 4-3 in their opening Conference League group game, one of 19 wins in their last 30 European outings.

They generally keep things tight, keeping four clean sheets in their five away games matches this season, while they have also won 14 of their last 25 away ties in continental football.

I predict that Villarreal will win this game, but they could well concede given Hapoel’s attacking capabilities, so 2-1 to the visitors is my correct score prediction.
