Hartlepool vs Blackpool Predictions

  • Hartlepool have kept clean sheets in each of their last three home games
  • Blackpool have only won two of their last 11 games
  • Blackpool have lost their last 3 away matches
  • Hartlepool have won 1-0 in the previous two rounds

Harbour hopes on Hartlepool’s home form

Hartlepool have been in good form on their own patch this season, particularly of late where they have kept clean sheets in each of their last three home matches.Their fondness for home turf is highlighted by the fact that they have amassed 23 of their 28 total league points this season at Victoria Park. As such they hold the 4th best home record in League Two and a packed Victoria Park crowd can expect another good showing on Saturday.

Hartlepool up for the cup

Hartlepool have already downed opposition from higher divisions in the two previous rounds in the FA Cup. In round one they took Wycombe Wanderers to a replay before beating them 1-0 away from home. They then overcame Lincoln City by the same scoreline in the second round, both of whom ply their trade in a higher division than Hartlepool. To go with Hartlepool’s FA Cup exploits they have also reached the quarter-final in the EFL trophy. They are a side that have shown a clear fondness for cup competitions this year and I think they have decent chance in this one.

Blackpool not on the best of runs

Being 12th and only seven points off the Championship play-off spots isn’t a true reflection of Blackpool’s season so far nor the recent form they have been in. They have played more games than anyone else in the division (26) and have only won two of their last 11 matches in all competitions. Those two victories, both of which were home games, came against sides whose current league positions read 19th and 22nd.
