Hearts vs Hamilton Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in 8 of Hearts’ 13 home ties and in 7 of Hamilton’s 12 away days.
  • The Jambos have scored 1.66 goals on average in their last three games at Tynecastle.
  • The Accies have conceded at least two goals in five of their last nine away games and have only scored 0.92 times on average all season.

Jambos slowly creeping up

Hearts were thrashed 5-0 by reigning champions Celtic during the week as the Edinburgh club continued their quest of surviving the season. However, the Jambos remain in bottom place and are now four points from safety.

Daniel Stendel’s side has done better in recent weeks at Tynecastle, where they’ve drawn, won and lost once, with each of those matches seeing at least two goals scored. Moreover, Hearts have conceded an average of 1.54 goals this season at home and have scored 1.23 times, with 8 of their 13 ties seeing both teams score. Hearts have also only kept a clean sheet once- on the opening day of the season.

Accies edging closer to the bottom

Hamilton’s midweek defeat to Aberdeen made it four losses from their last five games, as the South Lanarkshire club wasn’t able to stop an out-of-form Dons side. The Accies have now gained one point in 2020 and they now sit just a single point above Hearts in the table.

Their away form has been somewhat better, although it still isn’t enough for survival. Hamilton’s defence has been shaky on the road, where they’ve let in an average of 1.83 goals and have conceded at least twice in five of their last nine away days. The Accies have also struggled with goals on their travels, netting just 0.92 goals on average, although they have managed to score at least once in six of their last eight.

Relegation clash over the bottom spot

Despite neither side coming into this game in good form, Hearts’ results over the last few weeks have been marginally better and have picked up more points than their upcoming opponents- four more to be exact.

We believe that whilst it’s hard to predict an outright winner for this game, both teams to score is a good shout, as the teams have scored and conceded quite an amount of goals in 2020, with 8 of Hearts 13 home games seeing this occur as well as in 7 of the Accies’ last 12 away days.

As for the final score, we’re going to back a 2-1 win for the hosts here, as they’ve scored an average of 1.66 goals in their last trio of home ties and have let in 1.33, with the Accies barely scoring on the road this season, averaging 0.92 goals and letting in 1.83.
