Another home setback for Heidenheim

Cologne are the best bet to win at Heidenheim on Saturday. The hosts have been poor at home, with just two wins in eight games, and Cologne have won two of their last three away matches.

Both teams have lost more games than they have won this season, with Cologne in 11th having won four and lost seven of their 15 games, while Heidenheim are 17th with three wins and ten defeats.

Heidenheim could not break their losing habit last time, going down 4-0 at home to Bayern Munich in their last Bundesliga game last month. They had just 26.1% possession and were behind 2-0 at half-time, the sixth game running that they’ve been losing at the interval.

The hosts’ attack has lacked cutting edge in front of goal. Heidenheim have scored just eight goals at home this season in the Bundesliga – an average of one per game from their eight matches.

The Heidenheim defence has been vulnerable, with the home side conceding in 18 of their last 20 Bundesliga games. No team has let in more goals this season than Heidenheim’s 34 in 15 games.

Cologne can edge this, with a 1-0 correct score in favour of the visitors looking like a decent bet. There have been under 2.5 goals in eight of Cologne’s 15 Bundesliga games this season, and two of their four wins have come via a 1-0 scoreline.
