Tip Reasoning

  • Real Madrid have won five games in a row, each of them containing three or more goals
  • Sevilla are without a victory at the Bernabeu since December 2008
  • Seven of the last eight meetings in Madrid between the two sides have contained three or more goals

Los Blancos On A Role

Real Madrid sit top of La Liga and they have scored more goals than anybody else in the division, notching up 32 of them across 13 games – nine better than the next most potent attack, Sevilla.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are flying. They have won seven of their last eight matches, with each of those games containing three or more goals, while Espanyol are the only team to defeat them domestically this season.

Where they are coming unstuck a little bit is in defence. They have the firepower to see off most teams, but have conceded in five of their last six La Liga games, with the total of fourteen that they have shipped so far the most of the teams in the top four.

Sevilla’s Struggles In Madrid

That gives Sevilla hope, but their record at the Bernabeu is poor. They got a 2-2 draw there last season, ending a run of 14 straight defeats, but have not kept a clean sheet away to Real Madrid since December 2004.

Ex-Real boss Julen Lopetegui will be desperate to get one over on his former employers, and his side do have a strong away record this season, taking 12 points from seven games and conceding just three goals.

They are also strong scorers themselves, netting in each of their last seven matches, but they have only found the target six times in those seven away fixtures.

On top of that, this Real Madrid attack is a force of nature. Karim Benzema is already on ten La Liga strikes for the season, and he is superbly backed up by Vinicus Junior (eight) and Marco Asensio (five).

In terms of the table, this is a close one, as 1st host 3rd, but Los Blancos are in blistering form and I expect them to make it six wins on the spin in a goal fest, with a 3-1 predicted victory.
