Hellas Verona vs Fiorentina Betting Tips

Hellas Verona are the only team in Serie A still seeking a first win. They are second from bottom in the table and there are signs that an approach that worked relatively well last season, where they defend well, play tough at home and isolate Luca Toni as a target man, isn’t going to work this year. Verona have just eight goals in nine games so far this season.

Things aren’t improving much. They picked up back-to-back 1-1 draws with Chievo and Udinese, but were then crushed 4-1 by Sampdoria last weekend.

It isn’t getting any easier either. They’ll welcome Fiorentina into town on Wednesday night, a team only recently displaced from the top of Serie A after back-to-back losses to Napoli and Roma.

Fiorentina went up against the best, and they came up short on both occasions. It just seemed like their style of play came unstuck against top quality opposition. On the bright side, we’re only at the 10th game into the season and their position in Serie A remains relatively unaffected, they’re only two points off the top spot.

We want to see Verona pick up another good result, but we really cannot look past a Fiorentina bounce back victory in this match-up. They’ve got too much quality and should have some motivation.

2. Verona lack of goal-scoring

Verona have just eight goals in nine games, we don’t think they’ll be able to shut out a quality team like Fiorentina and the consequence, in our view, will be another defeat.

3. No home advantage?

The Verona fortress from 2014-15 appears to have gone. They may not let games get out of hand, but they’re still win-less.
