Helsingborg vs Elfborg Predictions & Betting Tips, Match Previews

Helsingborg aren’t having the best of campaigns in the Sweden Allsvenskan so far. They opened their season with a draw and two defeats before getting back into form with four wins in their next five games. However, they have slumped again and picked up just two points from their last four Allsvenskan games.

They did manage to get back to winning ways in a club friendly during the summer break when they beat Falkenberg 1-0 away from home, but they need to revitalise their competitive form, and they will be hoping that a summer break has done them some good.

This lack of form has sent Helsingborg dangerously close to the bottom of the Allsvenskan table. They currently sit in 12th position, and their 15 point tally leaves them just two points above the relegation playoff position of 14th.

Elfsborg narrowly missed out on a top four spot in the Allsvenskan last season, and as such aren’t taking part in the Europa League qualifiers. Whilst this does provide some additional rest, it will have been a big disappointment for them after getting so close.

They haven’t been in the best form in the opening stages of this campaign though. Their lost four of their first five matches in the Allsvenskan before finally getting some significant points on the board with four wins from their next five games. But they went into the summer break in disappointment as they drew their next two matches.

This puts Elfsborg in a comfortable mid-table position of 7th, but there is already a six point gulf between them and the top three spot they missed out on last term.

Away from home Elfsborg have struggled. They have only won two of their seven away days in the league, and one of those was against the dreadful Falkenberg. It could well prove difficult for them to get all three points on Sunday too, as the hosting Helsingborg have only lost two of their six home matches and have won three times.

My prediction is for the hosts to get a point or more on Sunday, and odds of 3/5 for a Helsingborg Win or Draw Double Chance look excellent value given the form of both sides, and I’m going for a 1-1 correct score prediction at 6/1 as well.
