Heracles vs Excelsior Predictions
Heracles’ form over the last month or so has been hit and miss, but by comparison Excelsior’s has been terrible and the visitors could get relegated this weekend, even if hey manage to win for the first time in eleven matches. The hosts will be hoping to return to the top five by collecting three points on Sunday, but they are going to need Utrecht to lose in order for that to happen due to Heracles’ poor goal difference.
AZ just did enough to claim all three points at home to Heracles last time out, taking the lead in the eighth minute. Kuwas equalised for Heracles four minutes before the interval, but Gudmundsson restored AZ’s lead in the sixty-sixth minute with what turned out to be the games winning goal. Excelsior had the lion’s share of the possession away at Den Haag in their last match, but despite creating some good chance the visitors ended up losing the game 3-1. Den Haag took an early lead, but Fortes equalised for Excelsior in the eleventh minute. Den Haag scored again before the break and then once more in the second half to kill off any hopes of a comeback from Excelsior, leaving the visitors on the brink of relegation.
The performances of both teams over the last more or so and their recent head to head record, all points towards over 2.5 goals being scored in Sunday’s game and makes Heracles the obvious choice to claim all three points. Over 2.5 goals have been scored in each of the last six meetings between these two clubs, and Heracles have won three of the last six encounters between the pair. Five of Heracles’ last six and three of Excelsior’s last five matches have also produced over 2.5 goals, but the hosts have won three of their last six matches and their guests have lost five of theirs. Heracles have only kept one clean sheet in their last six attempts, so in terms of a final score we’re backing a 3-1 win for Heracles.
Dalmau top scores for the hosts this season with sixteen Eredivisie goals, but teammates Kuwas and Peterson have both reached the double figures mark. Messaoud leads the way in front of goal for Excelsior with seven goals, but the visitors have lacked a natural goalscorer in their squad this season. We’re confident that Heracles will win and over 2.5 goals will be scored on Sunday, and have predicted a final scoreline of 3-1 in favour of Heracles. The head to head record and recent performances of both clubs suggest we will see plenty of goalmouth action on Sunday, but the hosts are the clear form favourites and should be winning this game with relative ease.
