Huddersfield vs Bolton Predictions
Bolton have not been giving their fans much value for money this season. They are the lowest scorers in the division with just 3 goals in 7 games but at least for their sake, they have been keeping it tight at the back and only 4 sides have better defensive records than them.
They have improved since the opening few weeks and are actually unbeaten in 4 games coming into this one but three of them have been draws and two of those were goalless.
The curse of the returning manager struck as Chris Powell’s Huddersfield picked up an excellent win at Charlton in midweek but they are hardly prolific in front of goal either and that was their first win of the campaign. Whether they are good enough to back that up with another win against a stubborn Bolton side is a much less likely possibility.
The Terriers lost their two previous games without scoring and also possess one of the league’s least potent attacks with just 5 goals coming from their 7 matches so far this season. What might happen is that these two sides just cancel each other out and we get another bore draw. Certainly with their respective troubles in front of goal in mind, it seems a pretty safe bet that at least one of these sides will fire blanks on Saturday and you can back that to be the case at Evens.
You’d be hard pressed to pick a winner for the same reason. Huddersfield have only one won of their last nine Championship matches at the John Smith’s Stadium and 4 of the last 5 have finished all square. Given Bolton have already been involved in three goalless games in the Championship this season, consider backing this one to finish 0-0 at long odds of 9/1.
