Tip Reasoning

When they suffered a drought during March and April, it looked as though Huesca’s chances of winning the title had disappeared. However, instead of giving in, Rubi’s men dug deep, regained their form and, by winning five of their last six, have returned to the summit of Spain’s second division. Depending on how Vallecano get on this weekend, the current league leaders could secure the title with a win.

Gimnastic are also fighting for something at this late stage, though as they’re just a point above the drop-zone, their goal is very different. Having endured a poor campaign, Nàstic are simply looking to remain in the division. A win against Leonesa last time out was very much needed, especially as they’d lost three on the bounce previously.

Huesca may already be promoted, but they will surely want to go up in top spot. What’s more, even though the hosts are already guaranteed a place in La Liga next season, the fact that they’re big outsiders in this match is farcical. Regardless of whether the visitors have more to play for (which is highly debatable anyway) they’re a poor side, one who are certainly not deserving of odds-on favouritism away against the likely champions.

Backing Huesca to win certainly wouldn’t be the worst bet in the world, but with the early betting the way it is, both ‘Huesca Draw No Bet’ and Huesca +1 Handicap’ simply must be taken advantage of.

The visitors, who have the fifth-best away record in the league, are no mugs on the road, but they’ve not exactly thrived away from home of late, losing each of their last four on their travels. What’s more, Huesca’s home performances have been very strong this season, very strong indeed. In fact, only Gijon have a better home record than Huesca, who’ve scored 31 home goals and have conceded just 13.

In terms of recent home form, Huesca haven’t been imperious, drawing three of their last six, but the fact that they’ve lost just one home game all season (against the teams currently in third) is impossible to ignore.

In all honesty, the visitors are a better side than their league position suggests, but Huesca have simply bettered them in every area this season, it would be a lie to say anything that contradicts that statement. On their own patch, with a title to secure, the hosts are the only team to side with at the somewhat bizarre prices.
