Tip Reasoning

  • Huddersfield Town are without a clean sheet across their last four outings.
  • The visitors have opened the scoring in four of their last five meetings with Hull City.
  • Hull City have lost their last five home matches.

Two teams with different targets

We’re approaching the business end of the season in the Championship and this is where some good form in the last stretch can be the difference between achieving your targets or regrouping and putting in the work ahead of next season. That’s the situation we have here as promotion-chasing Huddersfield make the trip to Hull City.

The hosts will still want to pick up a few results but it looks likely that they will remain in the Championship and avoid relegation. But they’ll need to buck up their ideas as they come into this one off the back of five straight home league defeats. Two of those five losses did come against two of the top three in the division, but it’s been a common theme for the ‘Tigers’ as they’ve won just two of their last 10 matches in all competitions at the MKM Stadium.

It’s a different story for visitors Huddersfield Town. Despite playing a game or two more than many of those sides around them, they occupy fourth place in the table and are just six points away from the top two. They just need to make sure they regain some good form after losing three of their last four. Prior to that run, they were unbeaten across 18 matches and they’ll be keen to rediscover that consistency as we approach the climax of the season.

‘Terriers’ to see off the ‘Tigers’

Neither of these two outfits have impressed of late, but as the old saying goes, form is temporary and class is permanent and we think Huddersfield Town have the greatest chance of victory here. They need to put some wins together to make sure they stay in the playoff picture and so we’re siding with Huddersfield and the draw no bet market, meaning our stake gets returned in full if it ends all square.
