Hull vs Manchester United Predictions
Considering the trouble that Hull have had all season, and the fact that everyone expects them to be relegated, they are actually enjoying a half decent run of form at home. They have won their last 2 games, the earlier game being in the 3rd round of the FA Cup against fellow relegation strugglers Swansea. They followed this up with an impressive 3-1 victory against Bournemouth, however, the victory is bitter sweet as they have lost one of their best players in Ryan Mason. To compound their woes, they have also lost versatile midfielder Jake Livermore as he signed for West Brom for £10 million.
Despite their lack of players, they seem to have a system that’s working with a 3 at the back formation, and with Evandro likely to fill in for the missing Mason in central midfield, they still have a solid starting 11. They have only lost 1 of their last 8 games at home, and should definitely not be underestimated in this tie.
Man United have been in incredible form over the past 2 months, having not lost in 17 games, including 7 away games. They came very close to losing at the weekend, as they only just managed to scrape a draw away at Stoke City, thanks to a moment of magic from all-time top scorer and Man United legend Wayne Rooney. They will not be wanting to lose this impressive streak, but are also unlikely to field a 100% strong side as they have a comfortable 2-0 advantage from the first leg and may want to rest a few players.
As a result of these factors, we don’t see either team winning this game, and will be taking a bet on the draw at 10/3. We see Hull giving this a good go so we do expect them to score in the game, so we will be backing the 1-1 draw at 13/2.
