Wigan to Win

Reason for tip

Hull City have lost five consecutive matches. The Latics are on a run of four successive away league victories. Hull have already conceded 23 goals this season – the division’s worst defensive record.

Wigan 2-1

Reason for tip

Hull have been pretty terrible of late and have scored just once across their last five matches. They can get on the scoresheet here but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see WIgan hand them another loss by way of a 2-1 scoreline.

Dire times for Hull City

Things keep going from bad to worse for Hull City. They were defeated 2-0 at home by Luton Town on Friday night and that marked a fifth consecutive defeat for the Tigers. Whilst losing all of those will be alarming, the fact that they have failed to hit the back of the net in four of those highlights issues in the offensive capacity as well. Temporary boss Andy Dawson will need to try and address these issues but it’s hard to believe much will change.

In contrast, Wigan Athletic are on a terrific run of four straight Championship victories on the road and they arrive here full of confidence. The Latics are two points off of a place in the top six and even boss Leam Richardson stated that “there are no negatives right now”. Another win here would be exceptional and given 13 of their 16 points have come away from home, there’s no reason an away win could not happen.

Latics to leave with three points

We will side with the visitors here. Hull City look in all kinds of trouble and there would appear to be far too many issues to sort out so quickly for interim manager Andy Dawson. The visitors are confident and in great form so we will back Wigan to leave with all three points.
