Hull vs Bournemouth Predictions

Hull suffered a somewhat expected first leg defeat in the League Cup semi final on Tuesday as Manchester United produced a rather laid back 2-0 victory to keep their winning streak going. This puts Hull in an extremely tough spot for the second leg, but it’s not entirely over just yet.

The FA Cup was a different story last weekend though as they managed a 2-0 win over the struggling Swansea, ending a run of ten games without a win in all competitions. Their Premier League winless streak remains intact though, with their 3-1 defeat to West Brom last time out making it nine games without tasting victory.

That 2-1 win over Southampton is their only win in the last 18 Premier League matches as well, and the Tigers have lost a dreadful 13 of those. Unsurprisingly this leaves them in a very perilous position, sitting rock bottom of the table with a three point gap between them and the safety of 17th.

Bournemouth had less success than their counterparts in the FA Cup last weekend as a flurry of changes from Eddie Howe resulted in a shocking 3-0 loss away to Millwall. This makes it two wins, one draw, and three defeats in their last six outings in all competitions.

Their overall form in the Premier League has been pretty decent this season though, and they find themselves in a very promising 9th position with a ten point cushion over the relegation spots.

Away from home it’s been a tough run for the Cherries recently, but they have managed to improve slightly after their six away days without a win at the start of the season. They have won two and lost three of their last five on the road, but two of those defeats came to Arsenal and Chelsea and they have managed to collect all three points from both Stoke and Swansea.

Hull have been a lot more difficult to beat at the KCOM though, with just one of their last five there ending in defeat. Only one of them has been a win as well though, so we could be looking at a stalemate here.

There could be a flurry of goals though. Bournemouth have seen at least three goals in seven of their last eight league games, including each of their last four on the road. Hull have been involved in high scoring matches in five of their last six too, including four of their last five at the KCOM Stadium. This makes odds of 19/20 for Over 2.5 Goals look good value, and I’m going for that along with a 2-2 correct score predictions at 14/1.

In terms of individual performances it’s hard to look beyond Robert Snodgrass. The Scottish winger has bagged seven league goals this season and five of them have come at the KCOM. He is by far their most influential player going forward and comes in at 12/5 to score anytime, which makes him a perfect choice for our anytime goalscorer predictions.
