Hull vs QPR Predictions
Of the pair, Hull have coped marginally better with the transition back to Championship football but both managers will have reasons to feel encouraged with the starts they have made.
It hasn’t been a great week for QPR though. Having made it to the end of the transfer window without losing their star assets, you might have assumed they would kick on with two very winnable home games. However they saw a 1-0 lead turn into a 2-1 defeat against Nottingham Forest last Saturday and could only manage a point at home to Blackburn in midweek.
By contrast Hull secured their best result of the season so far by winning 2-0 at in-form Cardiff City on Tuesday night. It ended a long win drought on the road and back on Humberside they will be confident of extending a 100% home record.
Hul recorded a 2-1 success when the Londoners visited for a Premier League clash in February to complete the double over QPR. With recent history on their side and a very strong defensive record, they’ll be confident they can keep QPR chances to a minimum and in turn exploit a weak Rangers back four, who have conceded exactly 2 goals in 6 of their 7 Championship matches so far this season.
Their attack has got them out of trouble on numerous occasions but it won’t be so easy against a very solid Hull side and you have to fancy the hosts to record the win at 10/11.
In terms of a correct score it is likely to be close. Not only do QPR tend to concede twice, Hull have scored twice in all of their Championship home games so far. The visitors are always a threat going forward though so you could see them scoring at some point in the game therefore backing Hull to win 2-1 at 15/2 looks like a smart bet.
