Hull vs Swansea Predictions
Hull suffered yet another humbling defeat on Monday when West Brom comprehensively beat them 3-1 at the Hawthorns, to make it five defeats and two draws in their last seven matches. They haven’t won a game in normal time since their 2-1 win over Southampton at the start of November, with ten matches being played since then in all competitions.
This has taken them all the way to the bottom of the Premier League table, with three points separating them from safety. Top flight survival will be their main priority this season, and they also have a League Cup semi final coming up against Manchester United on Tuesday, so there is a chance a few players could be rested in the FA Cup to keep them fresh for their main priorities.
Hull’s form at the KCOM Stadium hasn’t exactly been great either. They have won just one of their last ten games there in normal time, although their four draws in their last five games does show that they are much more difficult to beat there than away from home.
Swansea are also in trouble in the Premier League, lying two points above Hull in 19th position. However, they received a boost in confidence on Tuesday as they got a well deserved win at Crystal Palace, courtesy of an 88th minute winner against their fellow strugglers. Paul Clement has certainly had the best start possible to his time at Swansea.
This ended a run of four straight defeats for the visitors, but their form does look much better than Hull’s with three wins in their last eight matches in all competitions. They also don’t have the midweek League Cup to deal with, so I expect a full strength side out for this one.
Away from home that win at Crystal Palace was their first in eight games though. They have managed to score in eight of their 11 outings on the road this season though, but they haven’t kept a clean sheet since the opening day of the season. Hull have scored in five of their last six at home as well but haven’t kept a clean sheet there all season. This makes odds of 7/10 for Both Teams to Score look a great value bet, so I’m going for that along with a 2-1 win for Swansea at 9/1 for my correct score predictions.
