IFK Goteborg vs Helsingborg Predictions
- Five of IFK Goteborg’s last six victories have seen them keep clean sheets
- Helsingborgs have won only two of their last 17 league matches – both against GIF
Sundsvall who are bottom of the table - IFK Goteborg are unbeaten against Helsingborgs in their last 11 meetings
Goteborg to pile more misery on Helsingborgs
Helsingborgs have endured a miserable season in the Swedish Allsvenskan and are in real danger of being relegated to the second tier with only nine games remaining.
They have been victorious on only three occasions this season and although they have won two of their last six games, both came against GIF Sundsvall who are currently sat bottom of the table.
A win against a team in the top half still eludes Helsingborgs and they look likely to struggle at a Goteborg side who are fifth in the table with the third-best defensive record of the season. They have conceded only 18 goals this season and five of their last six games have been victories to nil.
To add to the bad omens, Helsingborgs have not managed to beat Goteborg since a 4-2 away win in July 2013.
Clean sheet likely for Goteborg
Goteborg are ready to host Helsingborgs, five months after their last league victory where they won 1-0. While Goteborg have one of the best defensive records in the league, Helsingborgs have the most goal-shy attack, netting only 16 goals all season.
A low-scoring game seems the most likely outcome and Goteborg to win 2-0 looks to be a solid choice. They have kept eight clean sheets in 21 matches and any win-to-nil scoreline will naturally look appealing.
