Ingolstadt vs Borussia Dortmund Betting Tips

After kicking their season off with an early exit from the DFP Pokal against Unterhaching, the 2. Bundesliga champions Ingolstadt managed to get their Bundesliga campaign off to a better start.

They beat Mainz 1-0 away from home. They defended well in their first match in the Bundesliga, keeping Mainz at bay throughout before netting a goal halfway through the second half.

This bodes well for the team that won the 2. Bundesliga title by 5 points last season. However, the mid-table Mainz are much lower quality side than the Borussia Dortmund team they will be hosting on Sunday.

Borussia Dortmund have had to play in a Europa League playoff match on Thursday, a match which turned out to be much more difficult that they foresaw.

Norwegian side Odd went 3-0 up at home to the Bundesliga giants within the first 25 minutes, a massive shock considering Dortmund hadn’t conceded in any of their last 7 matches.

However, the likes of Aubemayang and Mkhitaryan proved too much for the underdogs in the end, and they came back from this shocking first half result to win the game 4-3.

Their defence may have faltered against Odd, but their attack were in their usual fine form. These 4 goals takes their tally from the last 5 matches to an impressive 17 goals.

Ingolstadt may have defended well against Mainz last weekend, but they will need to up their game even more if they are to keep the on fire Borussia Dortmund frontline at bay.

I can’t see it happening personally, so I think Borussia Dortmund will win this one with another fine attacking display.
