Straightforward Serie A task for Inter

Inter will attempt to bounce back from their midweek home loss to Arsenal when they return to the San Siro for what should be a straightforward Serie A assignment against relegation-threatened Pisa.

The Nerazzurri’s domestic form remains strong and they maintained a three-point gap at the top of the table by beating Udinese last weekend for an eighth win in nine in the league. Cristian Chivu’s side have kept a league-high 11 clean sheets this season and no team comes close to their chance creation or shot conversion rates.

The Lombardy club have created 82 big chances since the start of the season, leaving the rest of the pack far behind with no other club able to top 55 and Pisa registering a mere 36.

Pisa pack a punch on the road

A clinical Inter side should secure all three points in this fixture even if Pisa have drawn five of their last 10 league games.

Alberto Gilardino’s men battled to a 1-1 draw against Atalanta last Friday to earn a league-high 11th draw of this season. Goals remain in short supply for Pisa but 14 of their 16 league goals have come on the road.
