Ipswich vs Bolton Predictions
It hasn’t been much fun for fans of either club of late and already both managers will be drastically scaling down their ambitions for the season. Both Neil Lennon and Mick McCarthy are highly regarded by their respective clubs but patience will be beginning to wear a little thin unless they can overturn their poor form before too long.
Ipswich made the top six last season and won 5 of their opening 6 matches in all competitions this time around. However since their Capital One Cup win at Doncaster in August, they’ve only won one match in 11.
That is still better than Bolton though, who have only won once all season but have at least managed to grind out plenty of draws and they are only 1 point behind Bristol City and MK Dons who are outside the drop-zone.
With confidence low in both camps it is hard to see there being many goals here. There have been under 2.5 goals in all of Bolton’s last 4 matches and their goal tally of 10 is the worst in the league along with Preston, who they somewhat predictably drew 0-0 with on Saturday.
Ipswich have also only scored 1 goal in their last 5 league matches and at 3/4, surely it is worth backing there to be under 2.5 goals here.
2 of Ipswich’s last 4 games have finished 0-0 including their most recent one at home to Cardiff on Saturday. Bolton have already been involved in 4 goalless draws this season and at 15/2 consider backing there to be another one here.
