      Ipswich vs Leeds Predictions

Ipswich are currently occupying the final play-off spot and have suffered only 2 defeats in their last 14 matches in all competitions and they were both against the top two clubs in the league. Since the start of November they have won 7 of their 11 Championship games at an average of over 2 points per game which if replicated over the entire season is usually good enough for automatic promotion.

That sort of target may elude Ipswich though and they are still not entirely convincing on home soil. They have only won 2 of their last 10 home games in the league and were held at Portman Road by League 2 Portsmouth at the weekend in the FA Cup.

That sort of home form will offer Leeds plenty of encouragement ahead of this fixture and the Yorkshire club head here unbeaten in 8 matches in any case so they won’t be short on confidence.

Steve Evans is really getting the best out of a young side that is impressing. His main challenge could be trying to hold on to the likes of Sam Byram, who has really caught the eye over recent weeks and has chipped in with some crucial goals.

Leeds have an outstanding away record over the past 12 months which if replicated at Elland Road would have seen them probably challenge for the top 6 last season and certainly be higher than 13th place this. Since the start of 2015 they have suffered only 5 defeats in 23 Championship away games and they have won 10 of those games.

With Ipswich seemingly more confident away from Portman Road, all the value is with Leeds here and you can back them to avoid defeat at 19/20.

The Tractor Boys have been tough to beat though so consider backing it to finish 1-1 at 6/1 rather than in an outright away victory.
