Tip Reasoning

  • Ipswich’s home matches this season are averaging over three goals per 90 minutes
  • Wycombe’s last four home games have all included three or more goals
  • The Chairboys have scored in twelve of their last fifteen away fixtures

Ipswich desperate to end winless run

It has been a tough season for Ipswich, who enter this fixture without a win in six matches and having won just four of their twelve league outings at Portman Road, drawing six times.

This will be the first game in charge for new manager Kieran McKenna after their Boxing Day fixture was postponed, so it is yet to be seen how they will set up.

But one thing is for sure; he needs to get his team scoring more goals. They have netted just twice in five games, but are conceding plenty, keeping just one clean sheet in their last ten outings.

Portman Road is still witnessing an average of over three goals per game though, with eight of their twelve home games including at least three goals per game.

Wycombe going strong

The Chairboys are in good form as they attempt to return to the Championship at the first time of asking, heading into this one unbeaten in five.

Gareth Ainsworth’s side have proved fairly lethal in front of goal, already scoring 36 times in 22 games, but they, like Ipswich, are also conceding too much, with opposition teams netting against them 26 times in the league.

They have only failed to score in four of their League One outings, while six of their matches away from Adams Park have included at least three goals.

I am expecting more goals in this one, so select three or more goals with a degree of confidence, but I think the two teams will cancel each other out, so predict 2-2 as the correct score.
