Jahn Regensburg vs Sandhausen Predictions
- Jahn Regensburg finished just above Sandhausen last season and won their opening game at Darmstadt.
- Sandhausen lost 16 of 17 away league games in 2020-21.
- Sandhausen have scored in seven of their last ten away league games.
Singh signing gives hosts edge in early six-pointer
Jahn Regensburg and Sandhausen finished just above the drop zone last season and this matchday two clash feels like it could be a significant in the battle to avoid relegation this term.
Die Rothosen, who finished one place and four points better off than Sandhausen, have made a better start to the 2021-22 campaign after gaining a 2-0 away win at Darmstadt.
On-loan Bayern Munich forward Sarpreet Singh was the star of the show, scoring a goal and recording four key passes in the game and Sandhausen must find a way of keeping him quiet.
Since taking over in February, Sandhausen’s managerial duo have not been able to stop their team’s dismal run of away form and it looks set to continue here.
The Baden-Württemberg outfit have lost on their last 12 road trips and took only three points on their travels last term, going down in 16 of 17 games.
There were some positives in their opening weekend defeat at home to Fortuna Dusseldorf, but this is a team that has seemingly forgotten how to win – or even avoid defeat.
The obvious call is a home win, but Sandhausen can score – as a record of scoring in seven of their last ten away league games suggests.
But we still think a Singh-inspired Jahn Regensburg will have too much and can see this finishing the same way last season’s corresponding fixture did – in a 3-1 home win.
