Juventus vs Galatasaray Predictions

Old Lady faces elimination

Juventus have a mountain to climb in the second leg of their Champions League Play-off against Galatasaray after capitulating in the second half in Istanbul last week.

The Old Lady was rocking when the Turkish champions took the game by the scruff of the neck, scoring four goals without reply to put the tie almost beyond doubt. Almost because Juventus have shown remarkable spirit and powers of recovery in Europe this season – particularly against Dortmund and Bodo/Glimt.

On matchday One, they were 4-2 down at home to the Bundesliga side entering stoppage time and rescued a point with two late stunners while a 91st-minute winner doused Bodo/Glimt’s fire in the Arctic Circle a couple of months later.

Juve’s defence has been dismantled of late

Luciano Spalletti’s side are in pretty poor form overall with four defeats in their last five and a shocking total of 15 goals conceded, yet they are probably still more likely to win this match than Galatasaray.

Okan Buruk’s men lost at Konyaspor on Saturday to open the door for their rivals in the Turkish title race. It was their second away defeat in three and suggests there is a vulnerability on the road.

Their Champions League results also back up that theory with three defeats and only one win – at woeful Ajax – on their league stage record.  Juventus are backable to win, but they are going to have to open the game up early on to overhaul Gala’s three-goal advantage. Back the Turin side to win with at least five goals in the game.
