Kilmarnock To Win To Nil

Kilmarnock 2-0

Reason for tip

Kilmarnock are strong on home soil, as the only visiting teams to win at Rugby Park since November are Celtic, Rangers and St Johnstone. Raith have lost six in a row away from home, scoring just once during that time, all of which suggests this should be a home win to nil.

Kilmarnock vs Raith Predictions

  • Kilmarnock have won both their matches in this season’s Scottish League Cup
  • The hosts have lost just three times on home soil since November
  • Raith Rovers have lost six competitive away games in a row

Killie strong on home soil

Kilmarnock are yet to put a foot wrong in this season’s Scottish League Cup after following up a 3-0 home success over Annan with a 2-0 victory on the road at Dunfermline.

Derek McInnes’ side will be back on home soil on Wednesday and they have a strong recent record at Rugby Park, as only Celtic, Rangers and St Johnstone have beaten Killie at the venue since November 2022.

Killie took 32 of their 40 points in the Scottish Premiership on home soil last season and they’re impressive record on their own patch looks set to extend into the new campaign.

Raith may struggle to threaten hosts

Championship Raith followed up a penalty shootout loss to Dunfermline with victory over Albion Rovers in this season’s Scottish League Cup, but this will be their first away match of the campaign and they struggled on their travels for much of last term.

Only relegated Cove Rangers picked up fewer away points than Ian Murray’s side in the second tier during 2022/23 and they ended last season by losing their final six matches on the road.

Scoring goals was also a problem for Rovers on their travels, as from those six defeats at the end of the campaign, they only managed to net once.
