Kortrijk strong at home

Kortrijk are enjoying a good 2021/22 season so far, with their impressive form at Guldensporenstadion a large factor behind their position in seventh place in the table.

New manager Karim Belhocine has lost just twice in twelve games since taking charge, the most recent of which was at home to Cercle Brugge last month.

They are scoring plenty of goals, now moving onto 26 strikes after a slow start to the campaign in the final third, and they are reasonably tight at the back, but have only kept three clean sheets in ten outings at home.

It is tough to see how Kortrijk will keep Antwerp quiet in front of goal given their respective records though.

Antwerp come into this one having netted in nine consecutive matches, while their tally of 37 strikes for the season is fourth best in the Pro League.

Brian Priske’s side have scored in each of their ten away league fixtures, and although they have kept a handful of clean sheets, both teams have scored in seven of those outings.

Both teams to score looks a shoe-in on this occasion, as both teams are so strong going forward and prone to off days in defence.

That is my selection for the fixture, while I predict a 1-1 draw as a correct score because Kortrijk are so tough to beat on home soil.
