Krasnodar vs Qabala Predictions
The Azerbaijani outfit have already proven themselves to be very stubborn opponents in Europe this season. During their run from the very early qualifying rounds they appear to have grown in confidence and have shown they can mix it with some decent sides and teams that are more or less of the same caliber as their opponents on Thursday.
They are unbeaten in their last 6 Europa League matches which include a shock play-off round win over Panathanaikos. They held Greek opposition again in the shape of PAOK in their opening group game and at the very least will be a difficult side to beat it would seem given 5 of those 6 matches have finished level.
Krasnodar have not been in good form so they might just fancy causing another upset here. They are down in 9th in the Russian Premier League after 10 games and were pretty poor in the group stage last year although their group was much tougher than this one.
They took just 3 points from their opening 5 games prior to a consolation win over an under-strength Everton side. They pushed Borussia Dortmund pretty close a fortnight ago in their opening group game this year, ultimately losing 2-1 in Germany.
This game will be a totally different test though against a Qabala side who are sure to come with a defensive mindset, which has served them so well in Europe this season. It could be a frustrating night for the Russians, who are also relative novices in the art of European football and there looks to be value in backing Qabala with a 2 Goal Handicap at 20/21.
They are well versed at getting results where you probably wouldn’t expect them to but Krasnodar is a tough place to go and the hosts, who have a strong home record in this competition should find the breakthrough at some point in the game although they will have to be patient.
Therefore consider backing the Russians to win 1-0 at 5/1.
