Opportunity knocks for Oulu to make their point

KTP and AC Oulu are familiar foes after both gaining promotion from the Ykkonen last season and both have found it tough going in the Veikkausliiga so far.

KTP have done somewhat better than the team that finished above them last term to grab the automatic promotion spot as they have taken four points from their six games to date.

All of those points have been collected away from home, however, with both of KTP’s home games this season ending in defeat.

Opponents AC Oulu may be pointless at the moment but they could probably point to a tough series of opening fixtures as the reason for their tribulations.

This visit to Kotka represents a chance to change their fortunes against a team that they took foiur points from across two fixtures last term.

AC Oulu’s 2-1 away win against KTP came late in the campaign and all but confirmed their status as champions, so we reckon they will be confident of coming away with something here.

The market favours the hosts here, probably because they have a few points on the board, but AC Oulu could certainly win this even if we are taking some cover in the Asian handicap betting.

Jyrki Ahola’s men have won three of the last four head-to-head meetings in Kotka and we forecast they will avoid defeat here – possibly even nicking a 1-0 win too.
