Getafe take unbeaten streak to the Canaries

Getafe are unbeaten in nine games across all competitions but they will need to be on form to extend that streak at Las Palmas on Friday.

The hosts have lost just one of their six home games in La Liga, winning three, and they come into the game after losing 1-0 at Real Betis – in a game where they were perhaps unlucky not to at least claim a share of the spoils.

Getafe may be on a nine-game unbeaten run but six of those have finished level and their two league wins during that run have been home successes against team’s in the bottom five.

Geta are yet to claim an away La Liga victory and three of the four draws they have managed on their travels have come against teams currently in the bottom four.

Las Palmas have made the Estadio Gran Canaria a tough hunting ground this season and at an odds-against price look worth backing against Getafe, despite the fact the visitors are generally tough to beat.

Clean sheets have been an issue for Los Amarillos and they have gone eight games without a shut-out, although only Real Madrid have managed to score more than once against them during that period. Taking that into account, a 2-1 win for the hosts looks a reasonable correct score prediction.

Another reason to expect a Getafe goal is the fine form of Borja Mayoral. The forward has eight goals in 14 La Liga games this term – matching his tally from last term in 20 fewer appearances – and he’s hit seven goals in his last seven matches in all competitions.
