Le Harve feeling the promotion pressure

Le Harve enter the final round of matches in Ligue 2 sat top of the table, three points clear and yet looking vulnerable against a Dijon side fighting for its second-tier life.

Le Harve only need a point to secure the title and promotion to Ligue 1 but have failed to win any of their last three games, leaving them in danger of being overhauled by pursuers Metz and Bordeaux.

There are only three goals in it in terms of goal difference so Le Harve could yet miss out on promotion if they lose to Dijon, who need a win and for Laval and Rodez to lose to have a hope of avoiding relegation.

Dijon may spice up title race

Despite their slim survival odds, Dijon have been battling hard of late and head west unbeaten in eight and having won two of their last three away games.

They’ve scored in all eight of those outings during their current undefeated streak so should put Le Harve’s league-leading defence to the test.

Dijon’s recent efforts and a good historical record against Le Harve of one defeat in six games gives the visitors cause for optimism, although they still face a tough task if they want to become only the second team this season to win at Stade Oceane.

Dijon can at least avoid a defeat on the final day and with a point good enough to take Le Harve up, a correct score prediction of 1-1 offers a bit of insurance in case the visitors can’t pull off the upset.
