Under 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Fewer than three goals have been scored in Le Havre’s last four home matches and also in Strasbourg’s last two away games. A dull draw may suit both sides and goal chances are likely to be at a premium.

Draw 0-0

Reason for tip

Le Havre have failed to score in their last three at home while Strasbourg have been shut out in their last two away games. There is a chance that both teams play out an uneventful contest and take a point apiece.

Crunch time for Le Havre

It’s crunch time for Le Havre if they are to pull clear of the relegation zone and this Saturday’s game against Strasbourg looks like a great opportunity to pick up some points.

Le Club Doyen are one place above the relegation play-off spot, but level on points with Metz below and their recent form is not encouraging.

Luka Elsner’s men have won only one of their last 13 league games and lost five of their last six at Stade Oceane, but there were reasons for optimism in their last match.

Strasbourg seek a single point

Elsner would have shaken hands with Luis Enrique on a 3-3 draw at Paris Saint-Germain, although they will feel it could have been more after going 3-1 up on 61 minutes. Two of their starters from that match are suspended for the visit of Strasbourg, who have blown hot and mainly cold in this campaign.

It finally looked as though Patrick Vieira had found the right formula when his side went on a run of three wins and a draw either side of the last international break. Le Racing, have since fallen in a heap with defeats at Lille and at home to Nice meaning they are not completely safe just yet.

They would take a point from this trip north and it might not be the worst result for Le Havre either, but recent results suggest opposing goals is a better play than trying to land on the correct result.
