A match between the sides in 14th and 15th at this stage in the season isn’t really one to wet the appetite. Neither club is going down but nor will they be entirely happy with their endeavours this season. Leeds picked up a good away win in midweek, as they often do when they won 2-1 at Birmingham but their failure to replicate their away form at Elland Road has been their biggest problem. They’ve won just 1 of their last 6 home matches and only bottom club Bolton have picked up fewer points at their own stadium this season.

Reading aren’t great on the road though so Leeds may feel they can get some joy here. The Royals have lost their last two matches against Birmingham last weekend and Middlesbrough on Tuesday so they are hoping to salvage something from a bad week. They’ve lost 11 of their last 14 away league games and it has been a largely frustrating season for the club who are already starting to look towards the next campaign you sense.

You’d struggle to find much evidence to suggest either side are going to win this. Reading’s only recent away win came at bottom club Bolton and only by the virtue of a last minute goal after they’d spent an hour toiling against 10 men. Likewise Leeds only home win since January came against Bolton and they were hammered 4-1 at home by Huddersfield only last month. Therefore you’d be inclined to back the draw here. 3 of Leeds’ last 9 at home have finished 1-1 and backing this to finish in a 1-1 draw at 5/1 might be the best approach.
