Leganes have laid down a marker

Leganes have quickly established themselves as promotion contenders in Spain’s second tier and they should be able to overpower winless Huesca on Saturday.

After a surprise 1-0 defeat at home to Andorra in their curtain-raiser, Leganes have won their last three games and haven’t conceded during that run.

Huesca currently sit in the bottom three and they are one of just two teams yet to register a victory in the Segunda División and it seems unlikely they will manage to end that run at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque.

Comfortable win for Leganes

Huesca have only lost once, drawing three of their four La Liga 2 assignments so far, but this trip to Leganes is perhaps their hardest fixture to date and a win for the hosts looks the best option here.

Los Pepineros have won their last three games without conceding and are generally tough to beat at home, winning 10 of their 21 games last season and drawing just five.

Just one point separated these sides last season as they both finished in mid-table but they appear to be heading in different directions this year, with Leganes looking like potential promotion contenders and Huesca in danger of being involved in a relegation battle.

Leganes won the corresponding fixture 2-1 in May last season but that scoreline didn’t reflect how dominant they were on the day, and this time around they can claim a more comfortable 2-0 victory.
