Legia Warsaw vs Leicester City Predictions

Leicester look to outfox Legia

Leicester City have just one win in their last five games and a Europa League trip to Legia Warsaw on Thursday should provide a welcome relief from their domestic struggles.

The Foxes managed to salvage a point in a 2-2 draw with Burnley at home on Saturday after falling behind twice, while Legia saw a three-game winning run ended with a 3-2 defeat at home to Rakow on Saturday.

Legia’s results in Europe this season have been fairly impressive and they managed to overcome a strong Slavia Prague outfit in Europa League qualifying before winning their Group C opener at Spartak Moscow. However, Leicester held Napoli to a draw in their first game of the tournament, and should have enough quality to win in Poland on Thursday despite their indifferent form.

The Foxes do have a few selection issues and the absence of Wilfred Ndidi due to suspension in midfield is a concern but they should still have the strength in depth to cope here. Legia may also adopt a more attacking approach as the home side and that could be an error given the pace in the Leicester side so I’m expecting the Premier League club to carve out a few chances on the counter.

A win for Leicester even at a fairly short price is my main bet for this fixture, with a 3-1 win for the Foxes standing out in the correct score market. Goals haven’t been an issue for Brendan Rodgers’ men as they have hit seven in their last four games, and this looks like a good opportunity for the King Power club to get back to winning ways against lesser opposition.
