Levante vs Rayo Vallecano Betting Tips

Both sides are on their longest ever continuous run as a top flight club but it’s looking increasingly likely at least one will lose their status this season. Rayo Vallecano are in their 5th consecutive season at this level and they have finished in mid-table in all of their last 3 campaigns.

However defensive naivety, which has often been their downfall is really hurting them this year and they find themselves in 19th place currently although a win here will lift them out of the relegation zone. They are winless in 7 matches though but have put in improved performances in their last two securing draws against Real Sociedad in the league and Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey and they were leading both matches after an hour.

It is still much better than Levante who have lost all of their last 5 matches and haven’t won any of their last 8 now. They do actually play some decent football at times but lack cutting edge in the final third and are always liable to concede having kept just 3 clean sheets in 20 games this season.

This really looks like a must-win game for Levante who are 4 points adrift at the bottom and really need to get back to the pack. Rayo Vallecano are always attacking so this could actually be fairly open. Both teams have scored in 6 of the last 7 matches involving Rayo and they have only kept 1 clean sheet in their last 17 away games in the league. Therefore backing both teams to score at 5/6 looks like a smart move here.

Of the pair, Rayo Vallecano have that little bit extra in terms of a genuine goal threat and at least come into the game with something to build on following their recent draws. Therefore backing the visitors to win 2-1 at 11/1 and heap the pressure on Levante looks a decent punt.
