Wigan Double Chance (Win or Draw)

      Reason for tip

Wigan are unbeaten in nine League One games and have only lost twice overall since Ryan Lowe’s arrival as head coach in March. With Leyton Orient perhaps still feeling the effects of last season’s play-off final defeat, the Latics can leave the BetWright Stadium with at least a point.

      Draw 1-1

      Reason for tip

Wigan’s current nine-match unbeaten run in League One includes six draws, four of which have finished 1-1, and something similar could play out against Leyton Orient, especially as this fixture ended all square last season.

      Leyton Orient vs Wigan Predictions

      • Leyton Orient opened the new season with a disappointing 3-0 loss at Huddersfield
      • The O’s were beaten by Charlton in last season’s League One play-off final
      • Wigan opened the campaign by beating Northampton to extend their unbeaten run to nine matches

O’s still recovering from Wembley heartache

Leyton Orient came within touching distance of promotion to the Championship last season, losing out to Charlton in the play-off final at Wembley, and there appeared to be a hangover from that defeat as they were comprehensively beaten 3-0 by Huddersfield on the opening weekend.

Head coach Richie Wellens has seen some key players leave over the summer, notably Dan Agyei and Ethan Galbraith, and although replacements have come through the door, it seems the O’s may need more time than most to get up to speed.

Latics a tough nut to crack under Lowe

Wigan had no such problems on the opening day, as they racked up 20 shots on their way to beating Northampton 3-1, a result that means the Latics are now unbeaten in nine League One matches and have only lost twice since Ryan Lowe’s arrival as head coach in March.

Lowe also steered Wigan through an unbeaten pre-season, while their current run without defeat in League One began with a goalless draw at Orient back in early April.

That is one of six draws Wigan have accumulated since their last defeat, four of which have finished 1-1, and something similar may play out on Saturday, with the Latics looking good value to avoid defeat.
